Longview Power has a small, focused and highly experienced leadership team with nearly 150 years of combined experience in the power and mining industries.
Chief Executive Officer
Keffer has more than 32 years of experience in the power generation industry with specific emphasis in the development, management and financing of various solid fuel and alternative power projects. Keffer managed the successful restructuring of the Company and negotiated the successful settlement with its contractors. Keffer graduated from Middlebury College with a Bachelor of Arts degree and earned a Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School.
Chief Financial Officer
Cada has over 23 years of experience in the power generation industry with emphasis on financial management and reporting, strategic planning, cash and treasury management, financial modeling and risk management. Prior to joining Longview, he was CFO of Danskammer Energy and MACH Gen Power, VP Finance at Competitive Power Ventures, VP FP&A at Constellation Energy Commodities Group and Director at National Energy Group. He began his career as an auditor and then a financial consultant with Ernst and Young. Cada has a MBA from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Accounting from Old Dominion University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Chief Operating Officer
Nelson joined Longview in January 2014 to manage the plant rehabilitation work and has over 39 years of industry experience encompassing the key aspects of power plant operations and maintenance. Prior to Longview, Nelson worked for Sacramento Utility District, Babcock & Wilcox, Pacific Gas & Electric, PPll- Montana, Aptech Engineering Services and Black & Veatch. Nelson has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering degree from California State University, Sacramento, and a MBA from Saint Mary’s College.
VP Energy Marketing
Gillespie joined Longview in October 2015 as has more than 15 years of experience in asset optimization, hedging and managing assists in competitive markets. Prior to Longview, Gillespie held positions with EquiPower Resources, Kelson Energy, Allegheny Energy Supply and Orion Power. Gillespie has a B.S. Degree in Marketing from Clemson University and a MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of Pittsburgh.
Hufnagel has more than 15 years experience in the power generation industry with a large focus o O&M management, engineering, reliability, performance and business planning. Hufnagel joined Longview in 2009 as Maintenance Manager and also served as the Plant Reliability Manager. In those rules he was a key leader in developing the maintenance and reliability programs, implementing the business systems and processes and the startup and commissioning of the plant. Prior to joining Longview, Hufnagel worked for Reliant Energy in various positions including Maintenance Manager of a 470MW coal fired facility. Hufnagel has a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a MBA from Kutztown University.
Brian Osborn, P.E., P.S.
Senior Vice President of Operations
Osborn has over 30 years’ experience in the coal industry and has been with Longview Power's affiliate Mepco for over 18 years. Osborn began his tenure with Mepco as Chief Engineer, became Vice President of Engineering and Support Operations and assumed his current role as Senior Vice President of Operations in March 2014. Prior to his roles at Mepco, Osborn was an engineer for several Northern Appalachian coal companies. Osborn has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from West Virginia University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in West Virginia and Pennsylvania and a Professional Land Surveyor in West Virginia.
Richard Usery, P.E.
Vice President – Coal Sales and Surface Operations
Usery has over 30 years’ experience in the coal industry and has been with Longview Power's affiliate Mepco for approximately ten years. Prior to his role as Vice President of Coal Sales and Surface Operations at Mepco, Usery was the Technical Assistant to the President for three years. Prior to Mepco for 29 years held coal mine operations and engineering jobs for 29 years at coal companies in New Mexico, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Colombia, South America. Usery earned a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from The Colorado School of Mines and a M.B.A. from Marshall University. He is a Professional Engineer in West Virginia, Oklahoma, Colorado and New Mexico.
